Evans' Paints

Evans Mampshika realised his love for art at an early stage in his life. It is a talent he believes comes from his father, also an artist. His passion dominated his every waking hour, and he would spend all day creating sculptures or paintings as a young boy. He left school early as a result.
Like many youths from the Limpopo Province, Evans moved to Gauteng in search of opportunity. Instead, like many, he found hardship. It was while living at a shelter in Rosebank that he also by chance found his cousin, Frans Mothapo, who was selling art on the side of the road. It was this rekindled relationship that inspired Evans to persist with his passion. It was his cousin that shared these words with him, which he still holds onto today:
“You must hold on to what you believe; you must believe that the sun will shine tomorrow.”
